Mr. Whittaker is Founder and President of Carmel Capital Management L.L.C., an independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm committed to excellence and integrity in offering disciplined global investment management and highly personalized wealth management strategies.  Prior to founding Carmel Capital Management L.L.C. in 1999, Mr. Whittaker was an Investment Analyst and Portfolio Manager for fourteen years for firms based out of New York and San Francisco.  He has traveled extensively throughout the world researching and analyzing companies, industries and countries for investment opportunities.  Mr. Whittaker has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News and other financial news publications.

Mr. Whittaker graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.  He studied graduate international business and strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics and received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification in 1999.  He has served or continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Carmel High School Foundation, the Monterey Lyceum, Friends of the Carmel Library, Carmel Youth Baseball, Alpha Delta Phi Memorial Foundation, the IAP Program at the University of California Berkeley, the Bishop Harry A. Clinch Endowment, and the Investment Committee for the Diocese of Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz and San Luis Obispo counties.
